We respect your privacy. Mondzorg Kuijl tries to safeguard your privacy as much as possible and treats the information you provide us with confidentially. Whenever we process personal information, we respect the applicable laws and regulations regarding privacy. In this privacy and cookie statement, we inform you about the way we handle your information.

Categories of personal information

By using the website and the services offered on it, you leave behind certain data. This also happens in our dental practice within the context of the treatment agreement. This can be personal information. We solely retain and use the personal information which you directly provide us with or which upon submission are clearly intended for us to process. Basis for data processing

We can only process your personal information on a legal basis. We process your personal information because this is required for the execution of the agreement between you and us, as stipulated in article 6 paragraph 1 sub b of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We may also process your personal information for other justified interests, such as informing our patients about news or changes in our services. This basis has been outlined in article 6 paragraph 1 sub f of the GDPR.

Purposes of data processing

The personal information we collect may be used for the following purposes:
to create your account to register you with our dental practice;
to maintain and update your medical file;
to verify your identity;
to make an appointment;
to contact you;
to request authorisations;
to perform a treatment;
to communicate with other care providers/institutions involved with your treatment;
to send invoices;
to maintain and update your preferences;
to improve our service;
to provide any other services requested by you.

Provision of your personal information to third parties

In principle, we only provide your personal information to third parties if you yourself have given us permission to do so. Provision without your permission only takes place if this is required to execute the agreement between you and us or if a legal obligation compels us to.

Retention period

We will not retain your data any longer than is required for the purposes described in this privacy and cookie statement, unless we are legally required to do so. For the retention of your medical information, we maintain the legal retention period of 15 years, pursuant to the Wet op de geneeskundige behandelovereenkomst (The WGBO or Medical Treatment Contracts Act). In addition to the WGBO, we also respect the retention periods dictated by other regulations, if so required.

Security measures

In order to optimally protect your data, we have taken appropriate security measures. Within the dental practice, we have created and implemented a privacy policy. For instance, we make use of encrypted email communication.

For service purposes, we have placed references to websites of third parties on our website. We would like to notify you that when you visit these websites, the conditions from their respective privacy statements will apply. We recommend you read the privacy statements of these websites before you make further use of them.

Use of cookies

We make use of cookies to ensure our dental practice website functions properly. Cookies are small files which can be automatically stored when visiting a website and which can be read from the device (such as a PC, tablet or smartphone) of the visitor. When visitors access our website, the American company Google automatically places cookies on their device, as a part of their Analytics service. We use this service to collect information and gain insights into the way visitors use our website. We have not given Google permission to use the collected Analytics information for other Google services, and we ensure the IP addresses are made anonymous.
